Mallow

¿Dónde está los gatos?

Moby sat on the bag on the table for most of one day.

He's been very much a lap cat, especially with D. Until he gets D off the chair, and takes it himself. He can be a very persistent cat.

We had the second copper recycle party here on Friday. Not as well attended, insufficient food, but entertaining. I had a bit more beer than was good for me, but critically - on insufficient food. Not drunk, not at all, but my stomach objected with extreme prejudice. What's more, I'm still feeling ill and dizzy today. Age, or last swipe from the virus that laid us both so low? Not the best way to end a vacation, but there it is.

Got out gently to the well rained upon garden. Rained a solid day yesterday, not that I much noticed with my head down and Eleanor sticking to me.

Poppy, and the delicate green of California Poppies, not quite blooming.

Intentional mint, and mallow with ladybug. Mallow supposed to be a weed, but it fills in gaps and doesn't bother me, so I leave it.

This stuff, though...

I'd pulled out one like this over a week ago, left it to die on the sidewalk. Noticed it after a rainstorm, the leaves wilted, but the flower sat up and blooming. I now think of it as the Undead Weed! (DahDahDDUMM!)

Ok, a western salsify.

Not exactly a fabulous vacation, but a needed week for recuperation. And the house is clean, which is nice.

good to see a ladybug.
Your garden is getting there steadily.
Moby is...a cat! and obviously D is a very good seat warmer for him!

We have had some heavy rain today and it isn't over; more is expected this afternoon and overnight.

A rare cat photo (or two) at my blog today.

Too bad your time off has come to an end, but then, we wouldn't look as forward to time off if that was all we had.

That salsify looks like poky stuff. We have a few stands of something that looks lush and weedy in both yards. I have yet to identify it or tear it out. I'm waiting to see if it produces a particularly noxious flower or something.
