Gaudy

Couple of large days, all rooms running late. Today, people wanting to get home, for arriving family, daughter's ballet performance, other festive reasons. A bit of shifting, and they were relieved to leave. I had no need to hurry off, so when we were cleaning up, and my scrub asked to leave to catch her bus, I shooed her away.

Nearly the longest night. Feels dark.

D fed us when I got home, only a little late. So I put up the tree and lights. Ornaments tomorrow.

The LED lights are still quite cool compared to the old lights, still festive enough on the door. They flash slowly, fading out and on rather pleasantly. I could make them steady, as well. The movement is nice, though.

Friends from out of town stopping by tomorrow for dinner. Or I might have put off the decorations yet a while. Which, really, never helps. I like the lights and shiny, even as I tend to resist the process. Perhaps even needing the pretty gaudiness, the change of light and attitude. Not that I'm particularly moody this year. Perhaps the most contented all around as I've ever been.

Yes, our angel is wearing a Santa hat. And that curtain over the front window is the one I threw up there the first month just to have something. We like it, and any discussion to change it is scoffed at. Feh!

That looks pretty and festive. I've done nothing yet. Son and partner from Kazakhstan arrive tomorrow, and I shall reward them by letting them climb about in the attic and find whatever lights and glitter they can. My clambering days are over!
P.S. I'm actually a robot, but I can still fool the system!

RR,
Yes, isn't that a strange variation on the captcha/WV thing? Well, at least I don't have to rely on my typing.

I have to keep my clambering to a minimum, but still do some. Have to be aware of how I'm doing.

I may post a picture of my Christmas tree, if ever we finish decorating it. We started three weeks ago but still there are boxes of ornaments on the floor that haven't been placed.

Phil,
At some point, you do have to just call it.
