Rou, The old cloth drapes were sometimes green, I've even seen lavender. Some impervious gowns are also dark green. Wouldn't want red, since you want to see blood. Probably just so you can say to newbies, "don't touch anything (blue)." Yellow are unsterile protective ER gowns. Standards probably from manufacturers.
There are a limited number of companies that make various drapes and gowns, and they supply everywhere.
