I'm not sure how I feel about this Blooger feature, having "Followers?" Not sure I want anyone following me. Makes my back itch.
But, for those of you who are new, a sampling that may explain where the hell I'm coming from.
I come from the Army. Sort of. D and I got to know each other in the context of our activation to Gulf War I
Wow, not as much there as I thought.
Dale once asked about the courtship, and I've been looking through the old posts. It's there, in hints and bits, but not all together. Not up to it today, but soon. A story worth the telling.

I was curious too about the 'followers' as I had one anonymous follower of my blog, so I decided to become non-anonymous followers of a few of the ones I am following, mind you, I let Google Reader let me know when you post, not the following.
word verification: ungor
Are you ungory? No, I just ate.
All the best stories come in bits and pieces and are all the more fascinating for it!
Great to see the cat's amazing bed, and the new hair-style too.
Word verification: 'trutches'- artificial homes for turtles.
I hadn't read the piece you link to. It's just lovely.
Follower: a badly chosen word. As you say, invokes the more sinister "stalker". I read your stuff but to follow you I'd be required to adopt your principles. Nothing wrong there, except I'm still wrestling with my own.
Your blogonym. Seems like a phoneticised version of the German adjective for beautiful. Or, conceivably, the Yiddish spelling of that word. Or, yet again, it may be a secret. If it isn't well there's a another post topic without having to think.
I've just come off a dialogue with Plutarch on the social acceptability of asking questions during conversation. Some condemn it as rude (ie, being nosy). In my case an atavistic retired-journalistic tendency (far too many syllables) if that can be considered a justification.
I recently discovered I have three Followers. Not letting it go to my head - but have to admit to feeling quite pleased. I suppose the followers are those who regularly or often look at your blog.
I know what "followers" means, but like "friending" someone over at LJ, it just doesn't sit right in my head.
Or rather, it hits that part of me that can do wordplay, and all the meanings spurt out at once.
Yes indeed - and the Followers so-called are not necessarily the followers. Is what I was thinking.
Since I've never got into the RSS thing, I use the following dealie to track blogs I read that don't update all that often.
