There is such beauty in nascent sunflowers...and in the daddy-long-legs who visits.

She was there a long time. Patiently waiting.

I found a similar one on one of my sunflowers, I hoped it was out to get the blackfly which have been threatening. Glad you're enjoying the garden.

Lucy,
Tis a comfort.

I think this might be what we call a harvestman - round here they turn up a little later - round harvest time indeed! Such long legs!

Fire Bird,

So, I had to look that up, and apparently they are complex. Not exactly spiders, either.

Last night as I was washing the dishes a spider walking onto my toes. He (or she?) eventually walked off them again. We generally let spiders exist in our house. If they eat any other bugs, all the better.

Phil,

Probably she. I also save spiders whenever possible. If they are lost in the OR, I don't, but rather sadly.
