Replaced the knob, not a match, but it fits. Cheap fix, after several failed attempts to make the old one work. Found some left-behind washers, and voila.

Sorry, can't get over how much better this is. Moved two small lamps in for fill. No, not you, Phil. Well, not you particularly.

There's a piece of furniture in V-8's room where about half of the knobs have fallen off. It is about time that I repair them.
Good lighting is worth it!
