Rou, Barracks tended to have awful paint, which was still better than the amateur - and always splashily patriotic - murals.
The shoes were in my hand because they were not allowed on feet inside. Had the effect of keeping the floors a lot cleaner than they would otherwise be.
That wall is very Starsky-and-Hutch; I love exclaiming over all the shades of browns & orange as I watch that show with fangirl Marz--it aired 1975–1979--possibly the army kept those colors going for a good, long time afterward?

Yikes! That wall ... uff. Love the expressions on your faces and the shoes in your hand point to a tale of adventure ...

Voog and I could always make each other laugh.

Fresca,
This would be 1989. The army loved whatever colors it could get a few gallons of, I guess. Leftovers, mostly. Bought in bulk, used until gone.
*chuckles*
Maybe the army bought the orangey-brownish paint at the "Starsky & Hutch" firesale in 1979.
If they were the lowest bidder, sure.
