Intermittently

Bad weather, poor road conditions, don't bother me that much. I headed out early, took it slowly, and got stopped right before the turning curve beside the train/trolley tracks. Traffic completely stopped after 900 E. And that is all uphill, all the way to work. The curve is fairly steep, but well traveled and graded for the train, so if it's stopped, there has been a crash. The VIP/Handicapped University Shuttle*, serious bit of vehicle, stopped in front of me. The Cooper Mini too close behind me, tried to pass me before realizing the big shuttle wasn't moving either. Cooper skidded off to the left and headed north, no doubt causing accidents on the way.

Shuttle sat about five minutes, assessing the situation, as did I. The other way up to work would be much longer, steeper, and certainly no better. Shuttle turned. I followed suit, and turned right onto 900 E. The shuttle probably took the longer route up.

I crept home, parked in front, with all intention of heading out in an hour, once the plows had a chance, and whatever was blocking the turning was clear. But as soon as I got inside, I had to run to the bathroom. Which I have been doing ever since. I didn't feel that anxious out there, so something else has invaded my gut.

Traffic in front is solid and slow, with the odd driver without a clue. A pick-up truck sat spinning his/her wheels for several minutes, making no headway, in front of the house.

Dylan did a good shoveling at 0630. I've gone out twice just to keep a path clear, between runs. We will do more throughout the day.

This is the worst I've seen, in terms of roads and traffic, not sure why. It is very wet snow, unusual around here. And we do get a bit of traffic jam around 9AM and 5PM weekdays. But it's after 10, and nearly stopped out there. This is pretty far out of any kind of normal here.

Update: It's an atypical migraine. Very little headache, but everything else is there. Always confuses me, and I don't get any kind of migraine much, not for years.

Must be the warmth of the El Nino that's making your snow so wet. Timing is everything with road conditions. I like the view out your door!

Oh -- and I hope you feel better quickly.

It's been very warm, and this storm apparently had a ton of water.

Your front garden looks really snazzy with the new do.

We haven't had but the lightest of dustings of snow yet this late fall, and there still isn't any in the forecast.

We got clobbered.

Can you identify it?
