She will stay out in the garden as long as I let her. Usually I have to pick her up and bring her in, to her complaint and annoyance. This day she suddenly moved toward the driveway, a scatter of house sparrows, and she stealthily turned toward me. I knew. She'd caught a bird. I had to tap her head and make her release it. Didn't seem injured, flew off immediately. Eleanor was pissed at me.
Knew she was fast.
I continue to apply. Trying not to feel it too much, stay calm.

Ah our little murder goblins. They will do the murders if they can.
Good to keep applying and stay in the now. My friend says that if she gets excited about a certain job posting or interview she applies to at least one job after that. It helps keep her from over focusing on just one possibility.
Nimble,
We knew she was a stray at some point, she's certainly a mouser, and apparently experienced with birds as well.
I have a folder. Once the application goes off, I try to forget about it.
A mouser one needs... difficult to like birds and have a cat.
Keep up the good work...good advice and actions above
gz,
She only goes outside on a lead, so the birds are (mostly) safe.
Perhaps I could put her in touch with my new neighbour?
I had thought she was more sedentary than to be able to catch a sparrow. Good work on your part, though.
RR,
Eleanor would totally bop his head.
Cat,
She's amazingly fast when she wants to be.
