Wood framing begun, and continued over two days.
It's taking shape. They seem to stop by, do a part, show up another day, do the next bit.
As you can see, I made a very small pile out of the half of a large pile they left after they filled and tamped in. There is dirt all over the back garden. Hopefully, it will sustain plants a bit better in time.
I think once it becomes a utility room, we shall still call it The Porch. It's a good name, and it's used to being called that. House seems to be pleased with the much needed upkeep.

It's taking place nicely.
House seems to be winking (shorter window, facing Porch). Yep, I'd say House is happy!
P.S.: Stacked wood looks awaiting; scattered boards look abandoned, asking to be pilfered.
Crow,
I'd be happy to let them be pilfered. But they are largely rotted, with lots of nails, splintered in demolition. The decent ones have been set aside.
Ha! Hadn't noticed the wink, but you're right! The one on the right is the window to the shower in the existing bathroom. When the sun is coming up, it lights up the shower delightfully. House is sighing like she's getting a massage, with the occasional squeak of temporary pain. She knows we love her.
Really hating that ugly green paint. Hoping to paint it a more brick color, since stripping brick is difficult and miserable. We have gathered yard sale stuff to make the room useful.
It must be gratifying to see the progress.
If it becomes a utility room, that window to the shower will no longer bring in light.
Phil,
What, you think we didn't plan for that? The window openings will be the same as they were before. No opacity. That was our most important requirement after structural soundness.
