Comparisons

Yup, that was a helluva hedge.

Cats remain on good terms.

We'd worried a bit that Moby had simply conceded the bed as Her Territory. He's been wary of her for a good while. But that seems to be waning at the moment, this week anyway. As with all relationships, sometimes are better than others.

Big, black clouds lingering on horizons. The last remnant of a Baja hurricane dosed us rather well, hopefully this one will bring rain to the gardens also.

Coming to think that I just can't be fearful of the lingering evil-manager. Wary, careful, sure. But fear is not conducive to peace of mind and clear thinking. Such an easy trap, but not a useful response.

The bright fuschia confuses the camera.

This remind anyone else of a certain tower?

Maybe it's just me.

Got the postcard, put it in the window. There will be a sign, this just arrived in the post.

beautiful. gardening vicariously through your blog.

my own evil manager (perhaps not so much evil as harsh and demanding and unfair) threatens my equilibrium quite a bit. to the point that i breathe easier when she's not in the office. i hate it. i thought she was quite the cat's meow when i first started working there, looked up to her and all that, and time and working together have proven that she isn't all that. i half despise myself for my mouse-like reaction to her, and have recently started a mantra of "inner calm" when she phones. seems to be working… but why do some people seem to thrive on making others miserable? if i ever do, it's by accident, and i try not to make a habit of it.

glad yours is out of your hair. it's such a relief!

pc,
That's part of why I put all those photos up.

Dunno, a manager should be fair above all. Pour oil on waters, keep it all humming, opposite of that seems like at least low-level evil to me.

Those kinds of managers are often good at seeming, all charm and slick manners, easy to be taken in by them. That is what they are best at, after all. Keep breathing, those kind often move on quickly.

No, it's not just you. I always think of that tower, and mosque towers in the middle east. Do you suppose the onion was the inspiration for the towers?

I had a boss once who told me, when I was leaving for my vacation, that my customers should not expect to be "babied" while I was away. Funny, but I thought the name of our department was "Customer Service." Luckily she was "down-sized" and I became manager of the department for the next few years...

Crow,
Very likely, natural forms inspire architects and artists, and make good engineering sense.

Class,
Some managers, many, seem to miss the whole purpose of their jobs.

Oh good, the tour is June 20, gives me plenty of time to head over and check out your garden on tour day.

Well, erm, perhaps not.

Phil,
You would be welcome, but it's a bit of distance.

I suspect this will be on the bicycle tour part, between two of their Community Garden plots, and a good number in this area who garden creatively.
