Moby has taken to the mat we found at a garage sale a couple of weeks ago. Eleanor loves the open window. Everything so alive.
Watered this morning, not knowing if I'll be home much until Wednesday. Used the little sprinkler head I found among Previous' leftbehinds, worked pretty well. Much smaller scale for the garden in back this year, four tomatoes, a row of pease, some beans, four chili peppers
Scrub jay(s) back around for peanuts, not terribly concerned about me. Or D, who got to watch an impressive swoop past his ear. Something amazing about having a wild creature befriend one.

must feel good to the paws
gz,
So we have to assume, because he won't tell us.
we have cardinals, not jays. Normally, if you have jays, you don't have cardinals.
Of course, there are also crows, sea gulls, red-winged black birds, and a number of different kinds of 'little brown birds'.
Phil,
These are not Blue Jays, but Scrub Jays, not related birds. They sound more like crows, because they are.
