Buy

Happy Buy Nothing Day! Take a walk and ignore the ads (nearly wrote ignore the Eds, but that's not nice to Edwards.)

Be a frugal tightwad, stingy and prudent. Let them scream SALE until they're hoarse, it's an extra expense since it's not needed in the first place. We can do our bit to bring back the holiday for retail workers.

One exception can be the small, local shops, if it feels necessary, but it can wait until tomorrow. Small Business Saturday, bring cash please.

Eleanor has taken to sleeping between us every night, sometimes shoving D to the edge of the bed. She expects a cuddle, with much head rubbing, in the morning, which is a rather pleasant way to wake up.

i am so sad. i HAVE to go shopping today. i HAVE to go shopping today because i have to go to the pharmacy. medication is not negotiable.

this means i will have to be in the parking lot at the biggest commercial center of my state (where my regular pharmacy is located) on the very day i do not want to be shopping or give appearance of being shopping.

ergh.

flask,
Oh, that really is ok, if difficult. When we don't cook on Thanksgiving, we usually have to go out for food, as well. Consider it an unscheduled karmic payment in advance, and do what you gotta do.

The brilliant sunshine called me out for a walk early this morning. I picked up a few things waiting for me at the local library and then swung by the independent grocer for 2 red potatoes to add to the leftovers singing in my fridge! (Did this one day early since tomorrow is brew day and I won't be able to venture out for Small Business Saturday.) My dear Mama worked retail for over 20 years, and I find myself wishing for every one of those missed holidays back. So Happy Buy Nothing Day to you all!

I wandered around the mall adjacent to my work place at lunch time on that day, it wasn't too crazy. I didn't buy anything except for lunch, which I've been buying semi-regularly anyhow.
