So much better than a scalped patch of grass/lawn!

I can't help but wonder what your neighbors with their manicured lawns think of your yard.

gz,

People slow and stop so often to gaze.

Cat,
You don't know my neighborhood. There are many mowed lawns, a good number of wilder gardens like mine, some xeriscaping, a LOT Of completely neglected weedy lots. There are no manicured lawns or pristine landscaping along here. It's a nice neighborhood, but nowhere near a high-rent district. Well, except everywhere is a high-rent district these days.

The Royal Horticultural Society in UK has asked its members to follow the suggestion of 'No-Mow May' which lots of us will extend into June and further. My lawn now has a wide range of wild flowers and grasses and is supporting many insects. I may trim the edge, just to make it clear that this is intentional rather than neglect. On the other hand, I may not!

RR,

Obviously, I had a no-mow-May, too! I may mow the mint in June, but that's about it for me as well.

I did trim the hedge, mostly because the flowers on that stink. I try to trim off the budding before it blooms. Horrible stench.
