They are recycling OR masks, cleaning them for reuse in surgery. Some of our folks are freaked out about this. I shrug, somewhere I have a cloth OR mask leftover from when that was the standard.
One of our PACU RN's mom sewed up a batch. I cannibalized the nose bridge wire from a torn OR mask, and sewed it to the top of this one.

This is not for when you are at home, or able to stay away from other people. This is for when you are out and that is difficult. One more layer, and reminds sneaky hands not to rub itchy faces.
Stay safe, stay well, keep busy.

We have three masks, found among painting supplies. One of them, I discovered, is an N95, the kind health care workers wear. But it's only one and no telling how many times it's been used and by whom. So I'm keeping it.
Cat,
Yup, hold on to it. I have a couple I've used as well. Businesses that use them are the ones urged to share their unused stock with hospitals. Good of you to look.
I have a friend who is a nurse who just posted on facebook, "Hey, y'all -- if the mask doesn't cover your NOSE, you're doing it wrong." She said she kept seeing people on her walk with masks just covering their mouths. Sigh.
jo(e),
Yeah, only urologists wear their masks like that.
