Fertilization



Bad hair day?


Mike tells me the yellow bits are modified leaves, and each of the little nubs in the middle are the fertilization sites - the flowers.


Bee knows.

looks like a shield bug- although we generally have green ones...not your friend, the little beastie is a sap sucker

Thank you, that helped immensely. Euschistus Ictericus, a stinkbug. Glad I left it alone. This is the far end of their range.

Even here, without squirrels, it seems to take them a few years to really take off.
