Time

Today was all that yesterday was not. Time with people we enjoy - and miss, sufficient good food, time to rest, lots of hugs. Amazing how rarely I get to unleash my full intelligence in public, without comment. Just trying to keep up, actually. Ease and joy, to laugh without restraint, uncensored, unselfconscious. Drank more than I usually do, but well paced, with food, and it functioned simply to keep my social anxiety away. D even got to play a guitar for a while (I had picks ready.) A kitten bounded among the children, then appeared on D's lap, crawled into mine and stayed for a long petting, then progressed to Mike, where it fell asleep for even longer.

We got to Trader Joe's earlier, and bought the stuff of our care package that will be mailed home. As well as some pun-filled beer to bring with us. Moira taught me her back exercises, which I think will help.

Turned into a much larger party than we'd imagined, but so full of familiar faces we felt utterly comfortable. It got a bit weird at the end, but that's just because Mt(host) gets that way, and it's still entertaining and warm. They have quite the house, very livable and subtly posh.

Yes, there will be photos eventually.

I look forward to photos if you decide to publish them, this sounds like a really good time.

We had a similar weekend, full of friends, conversation, food, wine — and even a kitten. Doesn't get much better.

Glad you and D are having a good time, making good memories (if that isn't too trite an expression.)

It sounds wonderful - and I hope the back exercises help.
