Clumsy

Today could have been worse. Nothing dreadful happened. Just an awkward, clumsy, irritating shift with four different surgeons in two rooms and three different OR table configurations. Like starting all over again each time.

The time shift, even this one where an hour is regained, always unsettles me for a week, as I readjust. The whole concept of Daylight Savings is ridiculous.

Moby still has birds to watch intently. I'll keep the seed out there as long as they come to nosh. Good entertainment value.

Ach. I hate daylight savings time.

I wonder if we'll ever take advantage of the fact that we have the technology to make real clocks, now, and key the day to whatever we wanted -- make noon the time when the sun was highest in the sky, or 6:00 am sunrise, no matter where you were. That sort of thing. Perfectly easy to do now, if there was the will to do it. This business of time zones and skipping around by hours is ridiculous, and wreaks havoc with biological clocks. It's a solution of 19th Century technology, suitable to the era of trains and factories, and to not much else.

awkward days are not particularly pleasant.

I'm not too bothered by the time-shift, though I do question its validity.

Have fun, Moby!

Dale,
Exactly. We can adjust, but we don't, moribund and hidebound.

Phil,
Survivable, though.

Moby's been very tired when there aren't birds to stalk.

Does he chatter and snap at the birds and look like he's seriously considering jumping into the window? 'Cause that's how my cat acts when he's bird watching.
