Leave

Bully.

Leave.

Zero tolerance, after the third person who didn't like something I said, and decided to insult me on my blog.

Feel free to express your own, different, opinion.

But if I offend, just leave without comment. I don't need your chiding.

If I didn't think I was smarter than most people, I would hardly try to be a writer. This is my place to rant, if I write something that doesn't fit your nice, gentle opinion of me, too damn bad.

I am not nice. I am tough and difficult and flawed and angry. I am a bulldog, and I bite intruders.

Any more self-defensive attacks on me in the comments will be deleted. Immediately and permanently. Again. Go away. I have every right to be bitter, nagging, smug and a bitch, here on my blog. And you are free to delete your links here and mind your own fucking business.

A tough, difficult bulldog is just fine for me.

Moira,
Yeah, well, I'd bite 'em for you.

Always liked these commenting rules, starting with, "My blog is my home and each post is a party thrown by the author."

P,
That is a very good list. The catalyst for this post was mainly Rule 13. When called on it, he was then defensive and repeated the condescension. This from someone who's religious views I treated with gentleness. After two long responses typed in a fury, I simply deleted.

I missed all this. Sorry you've had aggro.

The commenting rules were a bit of a slog, but I did enjoy their child-free issues, and I now know what a troll is!

But anyway, I don't feel blogs like yours (and mine, if I may bracket them together)are spaces for confrontation, or even really forums for argument (to the extent that shrub might be seen to be), if we don't want them to be, but extensions of our personal space. I don't like conflict at home and prefer to have only my friends there. Good friends may have their funny ways, moods and off days, but no one should have to put up with abrasive treatment they don't like.

Sorry. I have no compuction at all about deleting unwelcome comments. Like Lucy, I see personal blogs as being like a room in our houses and subject to the same assumptions.

Yes, I've always felt that when I comment on someone's blog I'm a guest, and offending my host isn't appropriate. Pretty much the first point in the list Pacian mentions.

I like coming here to read what you have to say (and to see what Moby's up to). Thanks Zhoen.

I'm afraid I may have scared off some lurkers from commenting. Anyone who really reads here, if they haven't been offended yet, are probably tough enough to deal. Unless they are pro "intelligent" design. In which case, well I shall have to finally do my god rant.

Quite right. Sharpen up those teeth by chewing on that one loose link in your chain.
