Eight

Eight years ago, D brought Moby home from the shelter, on the train, carrying a bag of food as well as a vocally unhappy cat. We weren't to hear his voice for months again.

He's made five moves with us, and I believe he is happiest here. We are very fortunate to have found him, and he seems as happy to have chosen us.

Eight years ago my wife was just a few weeks pregnant with our second child. She's made one move with us and for the most part I believe she is happiest with us. We are very fortunate to have had her, but she is unfortunate to have Oligoarticular Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis.

When I come through SLC, and I will someday, I would so like to sit in that corner, in that chair, with that cat upon my lap, having tea and good words with you and D.

It would, I believe, be a very happy moment in my life.

(Phil, my heart goes out to your daughter.)

Phil,
So hard to see those you love in pain. We gets born, then all bets are off.

Crow,
I await the time. But Moby may just flop down on the rug nearby instead of lap sitting. It's just his way.

Crow, thanks.

Zhoen, fortunately she is being treated by an excellent rheumatic team and so is rarely in any meaningful pain.

Pacian,

He says "mrrk" back. I don't know what that means, but he does have a heavy Boston accent.
