I rather like the idea of a cat named Perch, actually. You needn't have deleted your comment. But this one is Moby.
He is indeed big boned, a large heavy cat, which is why finding him so precarious on the narrow arm and back of this chair strikes me as so funny. Less funny in the middle of the night when he decides to sleep across ankles.
He is also a very good tempered and gentle, has never scratched or bitten either of us in the year we have lived with him.
I love it when cats just sit alongside you. It's not intrusive, it lets you get on with what you are doing, but there is great comfort in having their presence close by.
He looks quite a bit like my cat, Jasper, which of course, makes me smile. Jasper was born a feral cat, but is also the kindest and gentlest of gentlemen canine. Right now I think he is my all time favorite cat, but like the song says, I tend to "love the one I'm with."
