Cone

That ain't right.

Better. Stable. Enormous improvement. Up several times to the toilet, seem to recall this as a thing after anesthesia. Can't quite remember what.

What my amusing surgeon Wrote. A YES or initials on the correct side is policy, they still get creative.

The card.

Now I want to make myself a Cone of Shame, take a photo & sent it to them. There were also flowers and candy.

Oh. I should wear it to my first post-op visit....

Auto fill is my left hand's new best friend, if occasionally a bit erratic.

My left arm and hand are whimpering in empathy at those x-ray images. Holy catfish, woman! They scream intense pain when I look at them. Are you related to Jehanne la Pucelle, another valiant stoic (from the fifteenth century)?

If you ever entertain a notion of changing your name, I humbly suggest adding Grace as a middle name.

My aunt Grace was decent, but not my favorite person.Already added a middle name after Aunt Evelyn, she broke her left elbow when a about my age now. She was left handed. Wound her watch with her teeth. My scrub training and family left handedness is making it a bit easier.

Jehanne is a cognate of my irl name, I was named after her.

Sorry about sharing the pain. As long as I did not move it, it wasn't so bad. Had it blocked within a couple of hours, splinted within 30 minutes. Now that it is screwed down tight, even as the second block is wearing off, it's really not so bad. Compared to herniated discs, I'm good. Small rx for opiod as back up. I could get another block, but I want to get my fingers moving.

For all you have endured, survived and overcome with dignity and compassion for others, for living with grace...

Tuesday's child. A dancer's grace, we tend to throw ourselves through tight spaces as though they were open studios.

Oh my goodness ... I saw the X-Rays first and thought, Oh Oh. The card is fun! Yes, wear the Cone at your first visit :)
Sending you only the best mending thoughts from here to there, dear Z!!!

When anyone asks how I'm doing, I say, broken. True, without complaint. It hurts, but not too much considering. Laughter helps. As does swearing. First visit with my surgeon Monday. And he is my Hutch, a good guy, we have quite the sibling relationship.

Got out and walked, which helps.

Not as bad as a broken hip.
