Bella (Photo)

For Mella. My view of 45.

Everyone else may want to shield their eyes.

Anyone else want to take up the challenge? Let those young women know how lovely they are, and to cherish it while they may? And know they can be happy and bulgy?

Happy is the key, bulgy or not. Thank you for this.

(Though, I think blogger messed up the photo though, at least it's not visible on my end)

How about I add another 'though' in there, for good measure. Though, that may be over doing it...though.

Don't know what was going on with that photo, but I've reloaded it. So, beware.

Ulterior motive, so I can read blogs from work, off my page. Ahem. On my break.

Moving on, exposing belly on line - quite a week, huh! You make me feel quite energised.

And your belly is beautiful, and I like the cat!!

indeed, the keyword is happy, because that lasts if it is not contained by the skin, or held prisoner by the shape of the belly ... though in my younger days, I, too fretted over it, punishing it like mella!

Is this "show us your belly" thing turning into something you can be 'tagged' into doing? I bet there won't be many takers! BWA HA HA HA!!!

Z, YOu have a gorgeous tum and cat. That is one great tattoo.

Oh, that's gorgeous. Kissable. (This is "bulgy"? Good lord. Then anything not concave qualifies as bulgy, I guess.)

I guess I'm hopelessly dislocated in this culture, but to me this is exactly what a belly is supposed to look like. Those narrow constricted ones always make me wonder whether the poor person can breathe: where is the diaphragm supposed to go, if the belly can't move?

For the past two days that this post has been up, I have been debating making a comment about the (high, I imagine) standard of cleanliness of your navel, and in the absence of new posts, I suppose I shall have to make that comment. Just so you don't think I've forgotten you.

No, wait, I changed my mind again.

Bulgy. Not fat. I know fat. I have seen belly folds (Pannis) that are 100 lbs all by themselves. But not model concave. I see naked bellies all the time, side effect of doing abdominal surgery for so many years. I have this skewed view, mostly in terms of assuming most folks have surgery scars on their bellies.

And yes, that is an immaculate navel.

I have also had the benefit of bellydancing. Looks better with a bit of bulge. And women who dance that get real ok with their bellyness. Which is why the cat there, a decoration when I danced.

Come on, show us your bellies. Be proud.

Z. I did 2 years of Belly dancing, it was such a freeing experience....am wondering why I stopped. Possibly because I now have a long vertical scar that cannot be hidden.

I bet that cat looks great when you shimmy and belly roll.

I worked with a nurse who specifically started belly dancing to deal with her belly scar. Took her a lot of work and time, but got her feeling much better about her body.

Love the cat! And not such a bad belly, either. Interesting post - this and the next. I'm single and aging and it's more unsettling than it would be if I had a loving partner. Dating sucks anyway, and watching the skin sagging and creases forming... well, I do know enough that it doesn't matter when someone loves you, but it's still something you think about as you watch the years go by. BTW, I posted my own belly photo!
