Solar
Hot sun on a cold day means a contented cat. Despite it being 7°F, -14°C, this morning, solar heating is sufficient for our small apartment (flat). Also means the roads will be relatively clear on the way out to D's parents this afternoon. One great thing about thin, higher altitude atmosphere, the sun just gets through.

Freezing rain through the night covered very much in a layer of ice. Walking is treacherous, side street slippery, but main roads and highways are just wet. The freezing rain is turning to straight rain this morning and will then stop by lunch time followed by a mix of sun and cloud. I expect all of the ice to disappear as the temperature when the sun appears will go up to 4C.
