Slurp
Dave's cat, Chance, has for a very long time has his water out of a tall drinking glass. We've tried this recently with Moby, and he loves it. The pint glass worked, but I suspected he would knock it over and picked it up immediately. I tried a plastic tall glass, knowing what to expect - and sure enough. I heard the sploosh, as he ran out into the living room with a distinct "WTF" expression on his face. Then I thought of these squarer bottomed recycled glasses.
"Oh, cool!"

"It just tastes better."

"What drinking problem?"

Whatever it takes to make the cat happy. Well, there are worse purposes in life.

I'm currently looking after a neighbour's cat who drinks her water from a cut glass bowl in a special place on the work top.
Our cat gets most of his water out of the toilet bowl. I'll try the tall glass and see if he takes to it.
I LOVE that last photo. Brilliant.
He has taken to it! Due to its height it has decreased the amount of food/water mixture that settles on the floor creating a bit of a mess.
Phil,
Great! Cats? Who can figure 'em?
Pete,
Thank you so much.
hee...one of our cats takes water as a treat above all else. In a glass lasta about 1 minute...then it is *splash* all over the floor.
Thankfully an ice cube in a bowl is a huge deal tho...and far less messy. We were given a cat fountain for a gift a while back...the cats LOVE it.
Had a cat who always liked to pinch water from a glass. I wondered if it was because it looked more like running water.
