Drifted
Having issues with mis-reading.
World's Longest Railway Tunnel Drilled
I saw as
World's Longest Railway Tunnel Drifted. Which would have been bad.

How would a tunnel drift?
(o)
Welcome to my world :)
word ver, incidentally, is unboxym
Tired Zhoen. I misread too, usually when I'm tired.
Am imagining drifting tunnels now, very Harry Potteresque
What did you say about that virus?
Phil,
I imagined the ends not meeting properly in the middle, a slight miscalculation sort of thing.
trou,
It happens to me a lot doing crosswords (the US type) and missing clues because I see the wrong word.
h,
Flowing, squirming tunnels...
rr,
yeah, my head's all buzzy.
Oops...
The actual sign is just a sign. The misread one has poetic possibilities. The power of just One Word!
INT. TRAIN ENGINE CABIN
DRIVER: Where's the damn tunnel?!
DRIVER'S ASSISTANT: Over there! It must have drifted to the left! Steer to the left or we'll hit the hill!
DRIVER: I can't steer! It's a train!
Reaction shot: the driver and his assistant SCREAM.
EXT. WORLD'S LONGEST RAILWAY TUNNEL
The train SMASHES into the hill and each carriage EXPLODES in turn.
(Zhoen, I'll make sure to credit you when I submit this to Jerry Bruckheimer.)
not as far out as you were thinking !

there are parts of your mind that tunnel silently towards deeper truths
Pacian,
Wow, you wrote a scene for me! I'm impressed, and amused. I suspect it would go to Michael Bay, though.
tristan,
Interesting. I seem to remember having heard of a large tunnel that got misaligned in construction. Could have just been a worry.
