Wow, that's beautiful. My town's library doesn't have a garden so much as a bus garage.

It's a fabulous library.

It took me a while to find the beauty, my part of town has a lot of cheap '70s disarchitecture. Strip-malls and much recycled business buildings. Hard to see the mountains for the gimcrack. Still, lots of birds, and the walk the steep hills on the last leg to work (found out the bus gets there as fast as I can walk, without my having to burst my sea-level lungs on de-oxygenated air) I enjoyed the running of the quail, and the wee snails.

My God, that's a fantastic new building, I'd have moved there just for that library; I'd probably have been working in it if I had.

Anna,
I think what got the contract for that architect was the promise of natural light in all staff areas, too. The old building had large areas without windows at all, most staff workrooms had none. Very user friendly place.
